Our Inspiring Journey

Facilitated Mentoring Services grew out of the observation that South Africa has a unique economy and that a large portion of the formal working population are Unemployed Youth.

The step from the classroom to the boardroom can be a big step for some and Facilitated Mentoring Services intention is to facilitate contact between those with life experience and those who are still work inexperienced.

Flexible Curriculum

Our program features 12 standard life skills modules: Time Management, SMART Objectives, CV Development, Personal Budgeting, Business Planning, Basic Budgeting Skills, Risk Management, Business Networking, Business Etiquette (both online and in-person), and Presentation Skills. We also offer the flexibility to create customized modules tailored to your specific needs.

Affordable Mentoring

We understand that managers and supervisors often lack the time to help employees develop essential life skills crucial for productivity. Our flexible and cost-effective outsourced mentoring service addresses this gap by equipping your employees with these vital skills, ultimately enhancing their productivity and contributing to your company’s profitability.

Delivered via Digital Media

Each module is delivered through digital media, one hour per week. Mentors leverage their personal experiences to guide mentees in developing the necessary skills for each module. Typically, the mentor-mentee interaction consists of two half-hour sessions per module, scheduled within the same week. We aim to provide six modules over six weeks, ensuring one hour of focused learning each week.

Dave Walls – Director

Dave has over forty years of experience in the International Logistics space working with some of the top logistics companies. He has actively helped in the development of several industry qualifications. He is considered a subject matter expert within the International Logistics space.

Mentors

Our team of over 50 experienced mentors are ready to empower your employees. These mentors are committed to the philosophy of paying it forward and are passionate about the mentoring process, many having personally benefited from similar experiences. Together, we have created a supportive community dedicated to nurturing and developing employees.

Ian Bratt – Director

Ian holds a doctorate in Chemistry from the University of Cambridge (UK). After moving to South Africa in 1981, he worked for 35 years as a Manager in the precious metals industry before retiring in 2016. Since his retirement, Ian has pursued his passion for assisting Executives and Managers in enhancing their presentation skills.
